The White House was designed with theatre in mind. The stage, which is normally 4.8 metres deep and 7.2 meters wide, can be increased in width to 9.6 metres and has a performance enhancing sprung floor. A lighting rig and professional sound system has been installed with excellent acoustics, attested to by actors and professional opera singers alike. A beautifully appointed green room, in true White House style, is available to performers.
